Emily：I am so gald that you could join us for our interview today.
Wei: Thank you for your invitation.
Emily:Can I ask how long you’ve been in this industry.
Wei：It’s been ten years. I arrived to Deshion after graduating.
Emily；So ,you are a cutting master or an assembling master?
Wei：Actually, I’ve been cutting material for ten years.
Wei: Could you introduce your job description for us ?
Of course . Every day’s work starts with material preparation and chooses suitable materials according to the order. Because our company has many different material stocks for doors, windows, and railings, it will take a long time to find materials at the beginning. I used to be reprimanded by the master for finding the wrong material when I was practicing. Now I can quickly judge and I am familiar with it. The second step is to measure the size. This step seems simple. We only need to measure it according to the size, but do to reach the standard, a certain foundation is required, because whether it is railings or doors and windows, there are various sizes. To be precise, it is necessary to have a certain foundation and careful repetitive inspections.
Isn’t it true that a specific set of procedures is much more complicated?
Wei:Not only that, because of the diversity of profiles and sizes, we must be fully familiar with it in order to achieve the standard. In addition, we will conduct random inspections in the middle of the cutting to ensure that it is correct.
Emily: Could I ask why you choose this job when you just graduate?
Wei: Of course for living. Although this industry is more difficult than other service industries, the salary of this job is also higher than others. It was chosen for the family and life, and at that time i just graduate and I know nothing about that. Only Deshion was willing to accept . Apprentice, provide me with teaching, teach me step by step to familiarize with the process, correct me, and lead me so that I can become a “master” like I am now. And after doing it, I feel that I am also very interested in this job
Emily: So, what was your initial impression when you started working at “zero foundation”?
Wei:Of course I felt very hard at the beginning, and even doubted whether I was suitable for the job, but later my master carefully guided me and taught me how to operate step by step, and sometimes even stayed with me to practice at night. So, when I first started, it was hard and warm for me.
Emily: One last Question .Do you still have the same enthusiasm and desire for this profession as you did when you first started?
Wei:Of course, at the factory, I am already a master. Not only am I familiar with the profession, but I also have a group of young apprentices under my supervision. When i see them it seems like seeing me when i was young, and they’re all striving for a better life. While teaching struggling youngsters, I am frequently infected by their excitement for effort.
